# Overview
This LD’s theme was “collection”. We usually try to think outside the box a bit on themes, so rather than collecting in-game items, we chose the theme of collection. In this case, you are the collector.

This manifests with you controlling some goons who collect on overdue debts. You’re balancing between various stats and probabilities, with higher payouts being riskier across various axes.
The game comes with three different endings, a plot twist you totally won’t see coming, and gambling innovative risk/reward gameplay
# Thoughts
The idea here came together very fast, perhaps too fast. I ended up not being super excited about the gameplay and only really got into a good flow once I got to playtesting and started getting a real feel for it. As a result, not a lot got done in the first two days, where day 3 was a hard crunch. I didn’t get nearly as much done with the story as I would have liked, and the balance also feels a bit rough.
There were also some additional complications; this was my first jam on Linux, and it came hand in hand with a bunch of major changes to my toolchain which hadn’t been battle tested yet.
Ultimately I don’t think the game is bad; the art is great as usual, it has a crunchy mood, and I was able to squeeze in a decent amount of polish. But most of our entries try to accomplish an internal goal; be it to try something new or push ourselves on some axis. This one lacked that pre-planning, so it doesn’t have the same meaning as our other entries to me.
That’s not to say we didn’t learn anything; the fact that we didn’t was a lesson in of itself. It’s a reminder that making games just for the sake of making them produces results that don’t really excite you. After so many LDs, we perhaps forgot why we do them, and that’s the biggest lesson of all of this.
